Bamboo sheath collection for making Biodegradable Cups

The Sheath [Tender leaves] collected from Bamboo Clump sources are sun-dried and stored till further use. Just before processing them, they are dipped in water and wiped with cloth to remove dust/dirt.  The dry dinner leaves are supported by a craft paper (handmade paper can also be used) with the help of 12 to 14 micron polythene layer in between to give shape, physical strength and leak-proof character to the final product. The three layers are pressed at 120-140degrees C in a pedal operated mounding machine to give desired shape and size to the leaf plate.
The curing time is about 6-8 seconds. The ready-to-use leaf plates are packed in lots of 40 and covered with a polythene wrapper for protection from moisture absorption and for safe transportation. Sheaths of Bamboo, Banana, or Bahunia Frondosa (Adda); Low density polythene sheets (12 micron thickness); Craft paper (or handmade paper or newspaper); Pedal operated mounding machine.
